The Community Re-entry Program helps patients with brain injuries re-learn the skills necessary to fully participate in activities of daily living.

We ensure that brain injury survivors are able to engage in home, work or community life. To do this, we create a “life plan” that focuses on strengths, helping individuals rebuild their lives based on what they can do not their disabilities. Patients apply basic communication, self-care and mobility skills to more complex daily routines, such as cleaning, preparing meals, and managing personal finances. Outpatient therapy, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and neuropsychology services are available.

Program Focus

The most common types of patients seen are those who have sustained a traumatic brain injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident, fall, assault or gunshot wound. Other acquired brain injuries, including stroke, tumors and seizure disorders are also treated. Our program has also been successful in working with individuals with learning disabilities. We accept individuals 13 years of age and older, who have experienced a traumatic brain injury, and have a family support system. We also assist in the exploration of services and resources on a local and state basis once in the program.

Special Program Features

MossRehab incorporates a Vocational Directions Program that prepares, places and trains people with brain injury for gainful employment in the community, which provides the patient with a sense of self-worth and accomplishment. We also incorporate a School Re-entry Program that prepares students with brain injury to return to academic life by coaching them on how to organize study habits. We work with school administrators and teachers to custom design academic programs to meet our students’ needs.
