Through better treatment and wound care, we reduce the need for diabetic foot amputation and amputation due to peripheral vascular disease.
The MossRehab Diabetic Foot and Wound Center has been developed to provide ongoing care for people who are at risk for amputation. We evaluate and treat people with diabetes who have "healthy feet," to monitor any changes or loss of sensation and provide specialized diabetic care to prevent foot amputation. This way, we can stop problems before they start.
In addition to treating healthy diabetic feet, our amputation prevention program treats patients with non-healing leg ulcers and wounds using a comprehensive team approach. The team includes a physician, podiatrist, physical therapist and a complement of other services available to us in our network.
